    WOW

My previous LC200 and my LX570 gets about 13-14MPG on a good day. I am jealous of your 21.1

This is the lowest I have been on gas. It only took 18.3 gallons. Why?

You will get better mpg if you leave it in D

Reserve. Even when you get to 0 miles, there's still about 2 gallons left.

Seems that unless you're on very flat ground or going downhill, S-5 is better. Was playing around with the Ultra-Gauge and it doesn't take much throttle to put load on the engine in 6th and I seemed to be getting better mpg by using S-5 instead.

I have stock TRD Sport doublecab manual transmission and I am getting 14-15mpg. I do drive short distances around town, slight hills... But 17mpg was the low on the sticker. What the heck?? My '04 Tacoma with a lift and oversized tires got better than that!

    Ethanol blend gas?
    Lots of start/stop cycles?
    6th gear getting much use?
    Heavy footed?
All lube and fluids topped off?

The EPA tests on a dyno with non ethanol by drivers monitoring throttle input vs. speed. Manual transmissions have specified shift points.

Have not check fluids yet as I'm only at 1500mi. But based on what I'm reading about levels coming out of the factory, I guess I should. I wouldn't consider myself with too heavy a foot and I do use 6th where I can. Using regular gas. Is there somewhere that I could find the specific shift points?

So 91 Octane. I put 91 in last night just to see what would happen. I am driving a different truck now, the engine is smooth, responsive and 50 miles into this tank I am getting 2.5-3 better MPG without changing my driving habits. What gives! I will report back when the light comes on for fuel.

Point being, every little bit adds up and you're not driving on a dyno.
There really is no set points; driver is working off feedback from throttle position vs wheel speed.

Best I could do was automatic testing. It's convoluted to say the least.

I average about 19mpg combined with 87. Should try running 91 in it and seeing what happens.

I feel sorry for you guys that don't have access to real gas. I truly pity the ones who live in locales with reformulated/oxygenated ethanol blends.

Anyone experience MPG drop after installing a catch can?
