Here is my milage done every time I fuel up from day one. I drive mostly freeway around 70mph hauling around 800 lbs all the time. This is on my sr work tacoma. Bought the truck in April.

Took this picture after filling her up. I drive 72 miles a day round trip of 50cty/50hwy, while trying to keep it under 2k RPM. No cruise control. Hope she gets me higher mpg in the future because she's still under 3K on the ODO.

 

22.54mpg on my worst tank, and 25.98mpg on the best.

I drive mostly hwy miles.

 

Average mpg is 16.4 last was 15.6

 

I am up to 12mpg

 

Hmmm. Gorgeous truck. I think I understand the poor mileage your getting.

 

Thanks hopefully it'll go up a bit after the gears get installed. Work is holding bavk progress on getting them installed

 

15mpg. Running 265/75R16 KM2s, drive like an old lady most of the time, 50/50 highway/city, but a decent amount of weight (bed rack, RTT, roof rack, awning, etc). Scared to think what the 285s are going to do...

 

This can't be right....

 

On my first tank, have about 285 miles on it so far, showing 20.2mpg average. That's probably 60-70% regular commuting, the rest freeway. On the freeway showed 22mpg one way (uphill slightly) and 25mpg the way back. Mostly 65mph

 

Well you actually have to drive to gain miles.

 

did you get your issue sorted out? Mine was like that too. Coming back from work one day the mpg said it was 6.9, and climbed up back to 11mpg by the time I got home (5 mile local). Normally it floats around 15.9-16.2 ish.

My Tundra was the opposite. Every tank, except one, the indicated read higher, usually by .7-.9mpg so 20.3 would be about 19.4 in reality.

 

I've only had mine since June so this is my first winter with it. I averaged 18.5 to 19.5 from June to November (manual transmission). Since mid November I've averaged 16.5. I guess it's due to winter gas and more time spent driving on an engine that's not warmed up yet. Tire pressure is normal.

 

2010, V-6, Double Cab, 4WD, Automatic, California fuel: 14-15 City/ 16-18 Hwy. (best near 21 mpg one or two times, in 7 years)

 

16' TRDOR 2WD DC No lift, stock tires.
Year in, almost 10k; missed a couple tanks worth for tracking due to off road refills or top offs from cans. Mostly in town, about 10% desert roads/trails. Use D and only very rarely S4. Mostly 500' or so elevation with trips over 4-5k passes at least once a month.

First decent freeway trip, about 65 miles each way with some good elevation change. On the way there @ 65-70mph got 23.0 for the trip. On the way back 23.0 for the trip.

Did find it very annoying it would have to drop down to 5th and even 4th to maintain speed on slight hills

 

Just did a 800 mile freeway trip and my avg. fuel economy is reading mid 22's. Mostly mixed driving before that. Odemeter is approx. 1500 miles now. I would put my avg. speed at 60-65 or around 2k rpm for the freeway trek. This is also with winter tires and 87 octane fuel.

I should also mention it was a very pleasant trip. 13 hours straight and never got sleepy or wondered where the last few miles went.

The cruise control is not well suited for hilly roads. Cruises nicely on the flatlands though. I found it best to slap it in sport mode (5) in the mountains and even turn on the ECT in heavy traffic. I would not even consider hauling anything in D mode.

That is pretty amazing fuel figures for a double cab 4x4! Is that actual full tank refills divided into miles traveled, or partial tank figures, or even scan gauge or onboard computer figures?
