Looking to get a power slider rear window for my Tacoma. Does anyone make one? Had a power window in my '06 Tundra and sorely miss the air flow.

Luckily you have an extended cab, so you could easily reach back there and open it manually.

However, I do recall seeing a video of someone making the rear window powered. I'm sure if you search hard enough, you'll find a kit.

As noted above, you have to make your own kit. I used a modified version of the bracket used in the link of post #3 (start around page 70). I then used a motor and regulator assembly from a 09-13 Ram. Switch is from a Siena. Connector for the switch is from a stereo connector for Toyota. Power is supplied by an add-a-fuse. The regulator assy has the cables with lead ferrules applied. I made my bracket out of 3 pieces. Piece 1 is the full width of the glass plus 1/2 inch on each side. It's made from aluminum stock 1/8 thick X 1/2" tall. There are two 1/2 long caps that attach on each end with a screw and dowel. There's a through hole for the ferrule. I posted a PDF of the bracket on the link listed (I think). The one tip I could give is to compress the springs with zip ties until everything is in place and tight so that there is correct preload on the cables. The other method is to go with an actuator as posted in the link of post #4. Either way should get you what you want. I can tell you this is the best mod I've done to the truck. I now use the window daily. Air buffeting and drone that the DC's have is gone with the slider open.

Edit: here's the link to the PDF of the modified bracket I used along with a few Picts/video of my set up https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/power-window-wiring-harness-help.424323/

+1 My mod is similar to vssman, but different - you MUST be capable of crafting brackets, routing cables, wiring switches, etc, but, there is a lot of satisfaction when you hit the switch and the "beer can" window slides open.

    DustStorm4x4 and vssman[QUOTED] like this.

Chances are possible that the 2017 Tacoma sliding window option can be adapted to 2nd gens.

Is it true that if you drive with the sliding window open, you're likely breathing in exhuast?
