My front driver's side power window has become super slow when going down and up. I'm almost afraid to put it down now in case it doesn't go back up. Which defective part could be causing this? Is it the power window switch?

Spray some silicone spray down the window tracks, see if that speeds things up a little bit. If not, then most likely your window regulator.

I agree with^ I've had several toyotas with power windows and usually the silicone spray in the rubber tracks helps. If not you might have to remove door panel and lube the window regulator and the gear on the power window motor. That should help ya out.

mine's been doing this. Not really wanting to take the door apart but it seems inevitable at the point

If the temps ever get above freezing, maybe I'll take the door off. When you say silicone spray, do you mean WD-40 or PB Blaster?

Liquid wrench like teehext is showing above will work, wd- 40 and pb blaster ect will work for a quick test, but they don't stay long where you sprayed them, something with silicone will hang around for awhile.

check the rubber (track) or whatever its called the window rides in i noticed my drivers window was running really slow, and after inspecting it i found the rubber was torn and was causing the window to ride over it basically binding it. I will not use til i get it fixed I would hate to crack the glass. good luck

The previous posts were correct, the track needed silicone spray. Once I did that, works like normal.

I don't know about toyota's but in 2 other cars I have owned, the mounts for the window motor in one case, and the scissor lift mechanism in another case, had come loose. Any slop in the whole thing and its easy for it to bind up, slowing everything down or even stopping it. Lube could temporarily improve this condition, but each repair was simple, and much more permanent, with the door opened up. Find the loose piece and tighten or fix the mounting point.

I know this thread is old at this point but would you happen to be able to pinpoint what exactly you sprayed the silicone on? Is it the tracks above the door or into the door itself? Thanks!

Roll your window all the way down. If you slowly roll it up watch the vertical channel that the glass slides up in. That's where you'll want to spray.
