    Hi,

I just purchased a new 2015 Taco access cab on Friday.
The rear doors do not have any speakers installed but there is a wiring harness going into the doors. I don't see any switches or lights on the rear doors either. Is there a Pre existing wiring harnesses for the missing rear speakers?
Where are the rear speakers mounted on your Tacomas?

    Thanks

    Van

In the head liner there are Transducers that make a feeble attempt to turn the head liner into a speaker. Turn your fade all the way to the rear and turn up the stereo and place your hand on the head liner above your head and you should feel it. You may even hear it if you don't have any hearing loss.

The wires for these " tranducers " are in the drivers side A Pillar behind the oh shit handle.

The wire colors for the 2012:

Left Side: Black and Yellow >>( Connector )>> Pink and Violet >> Speaker.

Right Side: Red and White >> ( Connector )>> Light Green and Lavender >> Speaker.

Just checked the truck. No audio or any vibrations from the head liner. The only source of audio in from the front doors. Guess I'll keep looking.

That is odd. The info I have is from my 2012 Access Cab and the electrical prints.

I wonder did they stop installing them or do you have an issue. Maybe someone else with a 2015 will chime in.

YES! I have many issues. But the doctor says that I'm getting better:D
Any way, it seems that my moo-la is running a bit low at this time so I'll have To live with the radio as it is for a while. I was looking at a new head unit for my Colorado before I purchased the Tacoma.
With all that space in the back, I may end up putting in an amp and a 2 channle speaker box system.
Is it safe to assume that the OEM head unit does not have any line level out puts (RCA Jacks)?

That would be a safe assumption.
