PS4 issues

If you hold down the ps button on the controller are there any apps/games running in the background?

 

I don't use Pandora

 

I don't think that code has anything to do with it

 

I had the same splash screen when my PS4 updated. It took unusually long but completed the process. I know this is dumb to ask, but did you put the system into rest mode and just let it does it's thing? If it is checking disk sectors than it could be a very long process. But shit, what do I know. Good luck with the fix. I'm actually curious about this cause mine was doing something similar. I'll post back if I find anything out.

Nope mine works fine after a few rounds of the other nonsense. So no BLOD here.

 

Wow. This seems like a headache of Hell that the 360's had on the initial design. I haven't got a next gen just yet and I'm leaning towards the Xbone. But I know the PS4 is the more powerful machine. I wonder if I should wait just a bit longer?

 

The PS4 is way better for a pure gaming system. The XBox seemed to me like more an all-in-one media center. I had the XBox for a week but returned it when I realized you can't play any games offline. I have been happy with the PS4 outside of the little glitches.

Is your ps4 plugged into a power conditioner ?

 

Yes it is plug into a Monster Cable power center. Save thing my whole Home Theater is plugged into.

Some of the plugs in the back of the monster power conditioner are switched and some are unswitched , if you have it plugged into a switched plug and you turn off the power conditioner , it would be like a power outage for the ps4 , which is exactly when that start up screen usually appears

 

Power Center is never switched off

 

There is a button on the front , at least on the model I have , that says "Switched" , pushing that button turns off all the switched plugs on the back of the power conditioner

I know this because my wife was kept pushing it without me knowing and my ps4 had the same thing happen as yours is doing because by shutting off the switched power it's the same to the ps4 as an unexpected power outage which is why that " checking system status " screen comes up to make sure nothing was corrupted
