Has anyone installed puddle lights on the side of their truck and would like to share how or where they installed them. Maybe under the mirror? Also, could i just tap off of the interior lights? Just though it will help when approching the truck when the area is not well lit.

LED light strip off eBay tapped into the dome. Got some under the bed rail too. Comes on when I unlock or open my doors.
Might not seem that bright, but those are rigid lights in the bumper. Some guys use a relay off the dome to trigger led rock lights too, which is what I'm gonna do soon.
