Question for welders...

I thought @literallynothing would have done it first!

 

I’m not a fan of 63 swaps. If I’m going to cut everything off the frame, do the math to properly set up new suspension, then weld it all on why wouldn’t I just link it? 63s are a decent option, and they are cheap, but on these trucks if you don’t set them up properly and buy good springs, you’re just going to snap or bend them. Doesn’t seem worth it to go through that much effort. At least to me

 

Math? You don't just weld it on and see if it works?

I mean a lot of people do just weld it on and see if it works…

 

Bottom line it comes down to the skill of the welder.

Those 120VAC welders I only ever use .023 wire better control and very wide range of material thickness I can weld with it.

I can weld anything on the Tacoma with the Hobart 140 with .023 hard wire then I have been doing this a while.

sure there are tricks to get the best output
