Would to share some some info

I have a 2022 Tacoma TRD Off Road, 3.5L, wanted some more power, 5 days from picking it up from dealer I got a OV tune last February

Truck is stock mechanically except for a PAC brake airbag system with Daystar airbag saddles for off-roading
I do lots of camping in summer and sledding in winter, current set up it a Leitner ACS, 2 Leitner GearPod Duals and GearPod singles, forged, Treeline Ponderosa, Rhino 270 Batwing Awning and front runner roof rack and I have a custom made boat rack to hold a 13ft tin boat on top of RTT for summer camping

In winter I have a skidoo 174 and 165 sled and also build a custom hitch mount lift to keep weight off tailgate for

GearPods last year were all full always of gear, this year year both Duals are
    Basically empty, singles are full
So needless to say I have lots of weight…more then the 5600lbs GVW of the truck
In August I weighed truck coming back from a camping trip, less food/ice/booze at 2880 KG….
I have weighed truck empty as daily driver at 2400KG with summer camping set up

So I wanted a bit more power and searched the internet, couldn’t find any real numbers other then specific product HP dyno numbers from the item itself and those number IMO are mostly lies and not real world number

So I bought shit myself and paid for my own dyno

    I order a few parts

    AFE Momentum GT W/5R filter
    Dynamic Air Scoop (DAS)
    Silver Bullet throttle body spacer

    Anderson Engineering Intake manifold spacer

    RIPP Performance Coil pack

And a catch can but that don’t matter

    First dyno-Baseline-June 10th 32000 km
    Weather-13 C and was heavy mist/light rain
    Doted line

    Second-Sept 9th-All parts installed
    Sept 9th
Weather-25 C and clear skies and sunny
    Solid line

    15 ft Tq
    3 Hp

I’m located in Fraser Valley, basically sea level, maybe 100ft elevation

    My thoughts on the upgrades:
3500 rpm ish under half to 3/4 throttle feels great, I thought (as always) I had way more power but after looking at the dyno, looks like under 3500 I actually lost from stock and aggressive climb to my gains

Ultimately I did gain more torque at lower RPM

also to note-on the second dyno, they had a harder time to stay in gear-3rd gear- and took a few more pulls and yet the truck was on the dyno less still

I am aware that the Tacoma has a terrible mapping for shifting and a better tune will help that, I had a Ford f150 before and the shift patterns on that was so much better
    But apples to oranges

Also noticed fuel economy has greatly improved, I never bought this truck for economy and honestly haven’t paid much attention but last 3 tanks after upgrades DTE are 550 to 600 as before any upgrade it was 450 to 500 km
I feel I did at least gain 80 to 100km per tank and from second dyno they did notice I was running more lean at the upper range of RPM, and I feel I am a very conservative driver

Next upgrades hopefully are AWE exhaust and suspension- dream is RCLT on 37’s

    Hope this helps people

    Cheers

I give you credit for using your truck for a lot of fun adventures.

I know this is an old thread, but I appreciate your time and effort here. I was considering doing some of those mods, but an extra 3 hp and 15 ft-lb torque are incredibly disappointing. And 3 hp are within the margin of error. I really want to find dyno results showing these mods are worthwhile, but such evidence is severely lacking.

Thanks for sharing your pics and dyno results. Great stuff.

Cold air intakes and throttle body + intake spacers are so over-rated it is almost comical. Ditto aftermarket coils, because the tiny amount of spark these engines actually need is ..... yup..... the tiny amount of spark these engines need.
