So I just installed my Pioneer DMH-1770NEX in my Tacoma. Everything is working good but I'm having an issue with the rear camera. It works fine when putting it in reverse but I can't get it to work when I turn it on with the anytime function. ( Shows No signal) Is there a way to connect it to have on all the time when switched on at the deck?

I'll prob call Crutchfield if I cant figure this out but was wondering if anyone had this issue & how they got it to work...

You will have to cut some of the wiring harness and do some splicing

The camera only gets power when the truck is in reverse. But you can wire the camera to get power a different way. Just have to be comfortable doing it

I don't mind splicing wires, I just need to know which ones to splice into..I did splice two wires, (red acc wire & reverse wire) together & had the camera come on but the backup lights and camera came on at the same time. Also while in park, the "R" lit up too...

Yeah you have to cut the reverse wire that’s currently feeding the camera BUT you have to leave it connected to the radio to still be the reverse trigger

If you just splice power to it, it backfeeds the reverse circuit so the lights all come on

OK. Any chance do you know what color that wire is that feeds the camera?

I guess I will have to do some poking around back there at the connection near the camera..

I’d have to look at the harness and see. It will be behind the radio though. No need to go back near the camera

My rear camera is always covered in liquid dust. It doesn't work very well that way.
