Im ganna be changing my rear o2 sensor and I got the one with the short wires so I need to cut and splice the new sensor to the exsisting wiring harness.
I got 2 blacks, 1 white, 1 blue. So I need to know if the blacks need to be to the right one, or does it even matter?

My husband and I changed an O2 sensor on our Jeep - where we had to splice wires together. It can be done. Ours was pretty easy, and we didn't have two wires of the same color.

Can you use the connectors (unplugging them) and somehow follow the wires and match them that way?

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    On the truck:

    (1) Red/white = Heater to ECU
    (2) White/red = power
    (3) Red = Oxygen wire to ECU
    (4) Brown = ground

The second page of this shows you how to interpret the wire color and wire number (location) in the plug.

Without knowing the brand and part number of the sensor you purchased, that is all the help I can give you.

Thanks for the help everyone.... I geuss I will see If I can find the connector and tell which black goes where.
But I read a diagram of the sensors for Tacomas, and it says that the 2 wires that are the same color are for the same thing, "Heater"

What part number? I may be able to find some easy instructions to take the guess work out for you.

well I just got done cutting and splicing the new o2 sensor in, what a pain in the but! But I think all my connections are good and I cleared the clode, took it for a drive and then checked everything again, all seems good. I used shrink tube on it and taped the wires. So now time will tell if everything is fine now. :)

I also pulled my front sensor out to look at it, and its perty black. I changed it a couple months ago, and I hope its not bad or ready....

I also have a Temp Gun, so I checked the Temp of my cats, before and after them, when my truck was at running temp. And it seems to be ok. So I dont think I need new cats. Temp before cat was about 300-350. And After the cat was about 100 degrees hotter. Which is what it should be.

Hi. I need help with my o2 wiring. I realize this is an old post but if anyone knows please inform me. I have a 91 pickup w 3.0. The plug from the truck side is completely melted. So I'm just going to splice them together. My truck has. A black a brown a white with red stripe and a pink with green stripe. My sensor has two blacks and a blue and a white wires. Which ones match up with which? From what I read the two blacks are heater so would they go with the green wire and the white with red wire? And then the blue go with black and white go with brown? Someone please tell me which ones go with which?
