Rear sensor replacement

Smacked my driver rear bumper into a pole. Had to replace bumper cover, the stay, the light housing and one sensor. BSM still works. When back up sensor on, getting error messages, and one time it read open circuit or something. Swapped out sensor with another, same thing. Tried disconnecting neg. battery terminal. No change. Not a warranty repair because I caused it. Any tips besides a trip to dealer?

 

Welcome to the forum. I know that there’s a calibration procedure for the BSM, but I’m pretty sure you would have to have the dealership take care of it. @caribe makaira may have the answer, he’s really good with the electronics on these trucks.

 

Remove and test for a short.
There are 4 harness types for the Taco.
