I'm looking for a bug deflector for my 2025 Tacoma Limited. About all I'm seeing are the rubbery looking ones that seem like they adhere directly to the truck. I like the old school plastic ones that bolt to the underside of the hood and only touch the top of the hood via rubber standoffs at the end. Can anyone recommend a bug deflector like what I'm looking for? Feel free to talk me into the rubbery looking bug deflectors as well. TIA.

    It's right here.

I don't think you're going to find any of those yet. I waited about 2 years for Weathertech to release one for the Santa Cruz(it still doesn't exist.) They don't have anything for the 4G Tacoma yet. AVS(linked above) is the only option right now, at least from a reputable company. The smoke one is the exact same material as window deflectors, if you're familiar with those. I personally like the look of the low profile ones, some people don't care for the double sided tape installation method they use.

Maybe after sometime something will pop up. Stick on components with double sided tape are probably the accessory norm these days hardware would be the most expensive part of the deflector, on 2nd thought that's all there will probably be. I have noticed a lot of 4Gs on the road with vent visors so people are buying those kind of accessories and bug deflectors are a similar product. Maybe you'll get lucky and find an old style bug shield and the Bug Man will come back in style.

Obviously you have no problem putting double sided tape on your hood. I can't do it.

I did it too with the zekzoop deflector....
But back of my head im always wondering what's going on under there...
    trapped dirt, moisture, etc....
Its not like its fully sealed...
At the time it was a money thing, & to me the zekzoop option looked cooler...
Actually still get compliments on it..

as much as ide like to leave it on, I will most likely be removing it sooner than later....

You could ppf or put piece of black vinly on the hood but that would be about the same as sticking the deflector on with tape. None of it seems worth it to me but I'm not worried about paint. Maybe the bedsisde chipping issue could get some of that deflection matterial premolded to the area and be stuck on with double sided tape, but who would want to do that? Somebody might.

You'd think, with as many 4G Tacomas on the road, bug deflector companies would have put out a ton of them already. Business 101.
