Thanks. I just finished turning the 30-06 brass I had into 35 Whelen so I'm out.

I thought I was the only person on earth who reloaded 762x39! Hard to come across brass cases for that in any quantity. Most people shoot steel.

I have a truckload of 223 sorted into various headstamps. I also have massive quantities of 9, 40, 45.

A little late on my reply, but it’s my go-to for .357 magnum and .357 maximum. I can’t find it locally lately, so I’ve been using H110.

Would like y'alls input. I have ejector marks regardless of how hot or cold i load the rounds. I'm debating polishing the face of the ejector on the bolt. Thoughts?

I would use something like a drill press to fully compress it and see if it’s protruding. Then I’d inspect/clean and check again. Zero major risk for taking a few thousanths off. No real risk in leaving it alone. Perfect winter weekend project.

    This

if it bugs you too much take a stone to it and remove the excess then reblue it with cold blue.

    It wouldn’t bug me. YMMV.

Depending on how it interfaces with the spring, you could also remove material from the bottom and leave an invisible repair.

308 loaded up today. I did shave the face off of that ejector like @Bill0351 suggested. Thank you for that. Will post back when it makes its way back to the range.

Cool press! I was just looking at one at Sheels.

I tried a combination of H110/240 grain XTP in today’s .44 Magnum load. It’s right on the edge between fun and punishing, which was the goal. After 50 rounds I was ready for some .38 Specials. It’s not usually 50 degrees this time of year in Wisconsin. Great day for some shooting. IMG_1029.jpg

Has anyone here ever used Shooters World Blackout for 762x39? (123gFMJ)

The jugs says 28 grains, start by reducing 10%.
Shooters World website says 19-23.8 grains.
The jug also says it's the same as Lovex D063, Lovex data shows 23-25.5 grains.

I've used a lot of this powder for 300blk subs, I just used my same 1680 recipes.

However this is a pretty big variance, and not subsonic, where I'm usually working down, not up.

So do a ladder working up. Safe bet is the 19gr starting load. It's your face over the action after all

    "Secondary explosion effect".

Purportedly bad things can happen when small amounts of faster burning powders are placed in large cases. One of the reasons why many powders have a " don't go below minimum" warning.

So reflecting on this for a while. My thoughts moving fwd would be to go with what the jug says as shooters world is user reported loads (i think) and therefor less trust worthy of a load than a company selling the powder.

I have a 375 cheytac and there is little to no published load data for it. So I've had to extrapolate from various online sources and weigh the reliability of each source. Newest test load for it should be pushing 352gr projectiles at ~3100fps. Trying to create a 4000yrd capable load.

That's pretty much what I did. SW Blackout is very similar to 1680, so I ballparked a load range window by cross referencing a few published 1680 loads.

I think the difference between what Shooters World and Lovex published may be due to CIP (europe) VS SAAMI (USA). Their max pressures for 762x39 are much different.

I have 12LBs of their D036-03 clean compared to American powders, 60% of the cost, I bought before the world went upside down. $10 a pound. We did a group buy on calguns.

I stay right in the middle of the load rates and have been very happy. I am only loading for 9MM at the moment.

Didn't realize TW had a handloading forum. Cool... I'm in! I'm not a seasoned vet by any means, but I've been at it for about 10 years or so. I originally bought the Hornady kit but added to it over the years. Hope to get some good info and help others on here! Have a good day.

What cartridges do you reload for? After I wrap up my current project, I’m going to start working up a .308 cast load for some coated 150g SNS that have been sitting unused for a few years. I have a vintage FN Mauser sporter I want to use them in.
