Thanks. I'd don't see it listed, unless I'm totally missing it.

You likely don't have it. As was previously said, there would be a "JBL" logo on the speaker grills, and head unit.

I may be wrong, but without the JBL, I'm pretty sure it's actually easier/cheaper to add in aftermarket upgrades. The JBL has an amplifier that creates issues, where I'm pretty sure the bone stock system does not.

I've read that too. I know my current system does not have an amp. I guess I really should start browsing and looking for a replacement solution. I don't want to do anything that involves me cutting/splicing or modifying anything. I also don't want to replace the factory speakers.

Why not?? Maybe if you see them it will change your mind...they're literally paper speakers.

    Agree.

I've had my truck for ten years, and swapped out the speakers (with low to mid level quality speakers), about a year after I bought it. Then just a couple of months ago, swapped out the head unit. The most dramatic difference sound quality wise was the speaker replacement. The HU made it sound even better.

As was previously stated, you can by an aftermarket wiring harness that will allow you retain steering wheel controls (if you have them), and make the install plug, and play without cutting into the factory wiring.

If/When I purchase from Crutchfield, do they supply everything that's required, like the wiring harness and new faceface/molding (or whatever it's called)?

Yes, I did my head unit and they make sure you have everything you need. If you are unsure and want to double check, you can call them and talk to them about what you are buying.

Thanks. I think I want to go with one of the larger screen/DVD/touch screen units. I want to be able to continue to use my steering wheel functions and hook up my iPod.

Yeah they sell the kit to keep your steering controls. I'm not a hardcore do it yourself kinda guy and I installed everything in about 2 hours I think. I ended up calling their help line because I wanted to make sure I was doing things correctly, the guy basically walked me through the whole thing.

I'll bet you could spend just a hundred bucks more and get some components for the front and you would be a happy camper. Hell even 60 bucks. Bluetooth is the shit man, I love having it. That looks like a nice HU.

That does look like a nice head unit, I was looking at that one myself. A couple things to be aware of: If you want to use the DVD feature of the head unit, you may have to splice into the parking brake wire of the truck. There is no pin on any of the factory plugs for this (at least not on an '07). There are work arounds for this besides splicing into the harness. Mine has a backdoor method that works for Pioneer AVIC units to enable this feature without the wire.

The other thing is that Crutchfield is great, but not the cheapest. You might want to find the unit you're going with, and search Google, and see if you can find it cheaper elsewhere. When I bought mine it was going for $750 on Crutchfield, and I found it through a vendor on Amazon for $530. I bought my wiring adapter through Crutchfield.

Components are the main door speaker and tweeter. I just looked and crutchfield has several under $100 that would be a big improvement over the stock setup. Not positive, but I would imagine the install would be easier than the HU.

I just had this unit installed at Best Buy this week. Still maintains full functionality of the steering wheel controls. It’s a Pioneer unit and thus far I’m very pleased with it. She has Bluetooth, HD radio, DVD capability, and sounds great. Also you get to see my running boards LOL.

Is it this exact same unit? Did you purchase from Best Buy? What extras did you have to purchase?
