    Hey guys!

My 2006 Toyota Tacoma was stolen out of my apartment parking lot a little over a week ago. It was my first vehicle and it treated me very well for almost 10 years.

As my insurance prepares to move forward with a payout, I'm beginning to shop around for a new Taco. I luckily know a sales manager at my local Toyota dealership who will be assisting me in finding the right fit for me.

I would however, love to hear about any advice you guys may have for the buying/shopping process or maybe even a story to share. I also have a few weird nitpick questions which I will list below.

My first Taco was relatively stock its whole life as I was pretty young and without substantial income. But this time I really know what I am looking for and would like to try to achieve it if it is possible within my price range.

    My Situation

My budget is roughly 20k-25k, 10k down payment finance the rest.

    What I want

    2015-2019

    TRD Off-Road/4x4

Preferably Black or White(I really like the cement grey but I don't see it anywhere in that price range.)

    Tow Package

    0 - 100k mileage

    Mods
This will all be pretty budget level

I would like to do a small lift just to get the stance right, was thinking bilstien 5100 2885s in front maybe AAL in back? what do you guys think

I will be purchasing the TRD PRO grill because I like it alot better than the OR chrome one

I want to blackout all of the decals, best advice on how to go about this?

Will be getting LED lights for both head and fogs

considering an exhaust to make it sound a bit nicer, thoughts?

    Questions

I am in love with the TRD pro rims and I want to know if the dealer would install them on a TRD offroad when I purchase it? Is that a thing? If so is it more costly than doing it after purchase?

I would like to lift the truck and would love any advice on the best method for doing so, not sure how much I just want the stance to be right(you know what I mean).

Is there anything I should look out for before buying a specific vehicle? Common issues, problems, etc.

Any and all comments, advice is welcome!

    Thanks!

Yes a dealer will install the wheels for you. They did for my wife’s 4runner when we bought it. You can get a off road 2016 for around 27k. A 2016-2017 doesn’t have the Toyota safety system nanny crap.

    Welcome to TW!

That's a bummer that somebody stole your truck. I would be heartbroken if somebody ever took my Taco away from me, but my hope is that the risk is slowly diminishing given the percentage of the population who can still operate a manual transmission. :D

Something to consider--if you're getting a stock TRD Offroad the tires that come on it fit a 16 inch wheel. The 4Runner wheels you want only come in 17 inch. You're going to need to get new tires if you upgrade immediately.
