Well my fxr retrofits were tested by some cold weather and rain a few weeks ago and did not pass the test. Im using depo headlights and just used the stuff from retrofit source to seal them back up and nothing else. Thought that would be enough. I did bhlm to my factory lights and didnt even use anything besides the factory sealant that was already on there and never had no problems. Any tips or suggestions from yall fellow retrofitters? i also have oem housings laying around for parts, do yall think those would seal up better than the depo's and just use the depo lenses?
    Thanx for any inputs

Use oven to help dry them out.... Use ur OEM lights in meantime.

Once dried out, keep all bulbs, and all grommets off/out of the retrofitted housings.

Go to Lowes and buy a tube of GE silicone II clear.... Find some plastic grocery bags also.

Put the silicone on the gap between the gray back piece and clear lenses in 6to12 inch strips... Wrap ur index and middle finger in a piece of doubled up plastic bag, rip piece off of bag. Use ur covered fingers to literally press the bead of silicone into the gap of the housings. U will see the silicone work its way into the hap if u watch from the clear lense side... Use more silicone if needed... Work it into the gaps all around the housings.

Don't worry about it looking gooped up... When the lights are on the truck again, the silicone will be fully covered on the bottom. By the trim piece, the top by the closed hood, the innermost side of the lights by the grille, the outermost sides by the fender.

Let this dry about an hour... Then go over the same areas (u prolly won't be able to work more into the gap, so just spread it around). Then let the lights sit 24hrs if u can with no bulbs at all, no drain hoses, no breather caps or anything installed. This will allow the silicone to offgas without fogging the lenses up.

    Reinstall, enjoy.

I've never had a leak while using this procedure and also the cheap rubber butyl ribbon from Napa.

Will try that method but I think I'll still open them back up and use the oem housings. Thanx

actually since we are both in Ca, PM me with ur info and I can send some butyl window sealer out for free.

I dont have any unopened GE silicone II tho, and that would cost more than its worth to ship besides probably being a no-no since it can leak.
