Thanks for that information, my brother has an FJ Crusier and was under the assumption Japan made frames used a different process and possibly higher quality steel, but like you stated they are all weak for people living in the rust belt.

Yeah to me it’s a systemic problem. Anyone on a Toyota body on frame vehicle needs their frame coated with a rust protectant inside and out if they live in a winter weather region that sees regular road salt, or anyone living on the coast with salt air.

If it wasn't for TW I wouldn't have known about products like FF to extend the life of frames, my last vehicle was a 1988 Nissan King cab 4x4 that I owned for 18 years in the rust belt with no frame undercoating and also not being cared for as well as my 2006 Tacoma.

OK, I'm in the northeast corner of Massachusetts and if it wasn't for TW I would have never heard about FF, sorry about your situation and hope you can find a solution, being a repair or otherwise...

I would tell your brother to go Facebook and enter rusted FJ cruiser frames. The group leader Jay Pen is collecting rusted FJ frame pictures to have NSTB to a recall. Warning after looking at these pictures you will need to get a tetanus shot.
