Selling it would be highly unethical IMHO. Sending the problem to some unsuspecting fuck is an option but if it snaps and kills half a family, well there's that.

Sounds you wanna keep it to eventually fixed, start with internal frame cleaner and less than $150 dollars and do 6 cans of internal frame eastwood, rust converter and rust encapsulator to the outside of frame to at least stop rust from keep progressing.

Im same boat, im still making payments , just keep in on rust is a constant battle on these frames.

The seller didn't put the year. I wasn't aware the 2nd gens were getting frame swaps, so I assumed (you know what "they" say about that) that it was a 1st. How can you tell it's a 2nd?

because second gen and first gen have a very different body style. This one is definitely a second gen. Second gen frame on first gen is not going to work... But I've seen a first gen here that had a cut and chopped GM frame swapped in. It was really weird, but then it was just an offroad toy... so I guess anything is possible, as long as the truck isn't street legal lol:D

but to get back on topic, nah, this one won't fit unless modified a lot lot lot. Better off buying a new frame at that point...

Grille, shape of side etc. if you go in Tacoma Wikipedia it shows most off the differences in body styling

They finally got back to me and said they ordered the wrong part. I mentioned something about the rear shackles and she would mention it to the welders I suppose I’ll wait for another call

Welder now says I don’t need any parts just labor and a bit of metal. Apparently the rear shackles are fine so they will just put a patch in frame and fix shock
For like 320-380 depending on if it takes them a while. Quoted 5-6 hrs of labor

Right now it’s really squeaky. What’s your guys frames look like?

Mine looks like it did the day it rolled off the lot but that's the nice thing about living in the southwest...no rust (unless you live on or near the beach, maybe).

$700 for rear shocks??? Do you mean all new rear suspension (leaf springs too) or is that just for a pair of shocks and install?

I know hindsight is 20/20 but basic rear shocks are like $100 a piece at most and takes maybe 20 minutes to install. If that included leaf springs too then the price makes sense.

Good deal, once welder get done remember to treat the frame internally, many like Fluid Film but the stink odor makes that as my second option, rust treatment is Clean, Convert , Encapsulate \ Paint. Eastwood continue to be my option #1 , many educational videos about rust you can get there, here some tips since you will DYI
*DO NOT apply rust converter to painted areas only where rust exist after the cleaning
*Generous amount of Degreaser let rest 10 minutes
    * Water pressure rinse until water came clean park in angled placed so water flow easy.
    * Air pressure to dry excess of water
*Let dry 1-2 weeks to make sure not humid residual
*Cover all holes with tape then start your internal coat paint treatment ( That encapsulate and paint over rust)
*I will suggest 6 cans one aplication , then look with boroscope once dry to see if you miss any spot, then another 3 or 6 cans as second coat in the interior of the frame.
*Find a way for the tip of the long hose spray intenally centered inside the frame, I'm thinking like a rigid cable to hold the tip of the little extension Wands ( so they can really sprays 360 around not just touching the base of if )
    Once you're done internally then
*Apply rust converter to the exterior areas, let dry 72 hours ( not expose to water)
*Use the external paint of your preference, ( Chassis Saver) \ FF , Rustoleom , whatever.. black coat.

Well i did that couple years ago, with less attention to the outside cleaning so grease don't let stick the paint on some front areas, next time I will put more attention on the cleaning and I only used 3 cans , next I will buy 6; at least those are my plans , not that I need nothing immediately since it has been Texas Truck but just for peace of mind ,....

Im glad you're saving your truck ,

I can`t understand why people think Fluid Film smells bad .

I knocked a can of the table it sprayed for a minute or so I kinda thought it smelled good

Most people think gasoline and cigarettes smell bad but even as a kid I always enjoyed the smell of both. Some of us are just wired differently I guess, lol

Yeah , no clue how the FF smells, but I think fine print says required respirator......

Even with eastwood paint, should be # 1 advise, USE A GOOD PAINT RESPIRATOR
