Just ordered a set of matte bronze SR8s. Super excited as I’ve hated my stock steelies since day one. I know that technically the TPMS sensors are not compatible with aluminum wheels, but I have also heard there is a way around this by turning the sensor or something along those lines. Any downsides to this, and also from your experiences, are most tire shops willing to do this? Or, am I just better off ordering new sensors? TIA!

what are you going to do with your old wheels & tires?? If you plan on selling them, may be easier if you keep the current TPMS in them and buy new ones. That is what I am doing.

got my new Toyota OEM sensors from: @gunny1005

I'm in a 2nd Gen but I didn't have any issues when I went from stock to SCS wheels. My TPMS still work fine.

You had alloy wheels stock though, correct? My understanding is that the tpms sensors that come with the steel wheels are different and not 100% compatible with alloy wheels...

steel and alloy wheels use different TPMS sensors. supposedly they can be interchanged by rotating them somehow.
