Any opinions on if the seats are any better than the 3rd gens?

1000% better. Go for a test drive and judge for yourself.

Thanks. I've driven the new ones months ago but couldn't remember. I have the 3rd now and the seats are not great.

No comparison. The 4th gen is altogether a great cabin to commute in day in/ day out.

My 3rd Gen seats are fine. I test drove $th Gen and the seats were fine too. I've been driving a Tacoma since 1997 and the seats have always been fine for a truck.

New seats grip better in the middle with increased upper shoulder support = less fatigue.

That said, it’s hard to isolate whether it’s more comfortable b/c of the seats themselves, or that the driving position is so much better. The answer is probably both, but either way chalk it up as a win.

Thanks. My grip with the 3rd gen seat is the bottom is not long enough, not enough support under the thigh. They are also a bit flat in the seat and back.

Way better. The ergonomics of the 3rd gen drivers seating area is just terrible in general. The arm rests on the door and center console are too low and the steering wheel has too little adjustment for me to comfortay rest my arms on the armrests while keeping my hands on the wheel. The floor is too high, and the windshield is too short. My 2008 Si has a more "truck-like" seating position than my 3rd gen.

they're almost too good - the aggressive bolstering feels great while seated, but i feel like my fat ass is going to destroy the seat edge over time sliding over it to get out of the truck. i try to go over it but damn, it's just so much easier to slide straight out.

A gross improvement. But I've got the Premium package and I think they may be different than the standard seats. My wife no longer complains of leg pain.

Be advised that you get a lot more seat adjustments with power seats than manual in the 4 G.

Had manual seats in 2nd gen…….made better with REAR spacers……..
    Electric seat in 3rd gen…….

and now in my 4th gen…..I have manual seat again……….

seat for seat……..4th gen is improved greatly over 3rd gen EXCEPT, upholstery is not going to hold up as well, so looking to invest in really good seat covers……

recently installed REAR spacers on my 4th gen………1000% improvement , PLUS the 1” spacer allows for more adjustment with manual handle…….

toyota should be ashamed………$40k+ vehicle should have electric seat as Standard equipment.

Have you made a decision about seat covers? What did you go with? I'm looking for something that's less expensive than Katzkin but pretty high quality

My last 2 Tacomas I had Clazzio, and was very happy with them. This truck I did the ekr seat covers. They are not as nice as the Clazzio, but less than half the cost.

I’m going to throw this question in here. How are the black and gray fabric seats. Quality and durability? Stainability?
For reference I have had leather seats now for over a decade. My last cloth seats was a 2012 wrangler. And I liked them.

They make a dark charcoal cloth interior I think is nice. I was considering the SR5 with that.

The lighter color cloth seems ripe for stains.

I would prefer leather but the package with leather is 8k and comes with a lot of stuff I don’t need. That seems crazy to me.
