I also have my set from back when I had my car but I still only have the one set. I haven't had a need to pick up another pair since putting the front wheels up on the set is enough for me but I probably will get more at some point.

 

What kind of battery did you go with? How does it compare with optima?

 

Pretty sure lots of batteries compare more favorably than Optima. Optima hasn't been doing so hot lately, started falling off the last few years with poor build quality and batteries that were subpar overall.

 

x2power group 27. It is a rebranded north star. It has been great so far and many people speak highly of them. I’ve got one in both my trucks.

unlike many people who run dual batteries, im just running a single with my fridge and it’s been more than sufficient, I personally don’t see the need to run 2.

 

How do you like your bilstein lift

 

truck isn’t lifted. Front is factory TRD OR, rear is fox 2.0 shocks with factory springs. It’s been good, glad I swapped the rear shocks, it’s a noticeable difference

I’m planning to replace the suspension next year as I’ll be at 100k miles.

 

is that a DIY project? ... mod day at your place!?
i 'probably' need mine done too at +132k miles, all original stuff still

What change did the Fox shocks make that makes a notable difference? Bounce? Ride? Travel?

 

The back end of the Tacoma is quite bouncy, especially when you get some weight in there or towing. On my previous truck I ran a set of sumo springs but that made it much more firm than I liked. On this truck I swapped the rear shocks and it did exactly what I was looking for. It stopped the oscillation that will occur at times - especially on the interstate where you’ll hit a bump and it’ll bounce up and down. It has also done a much better job of dampening so I rarely if at all hit the bump stops.

I think it rides much better day to day as well. I’ve been very happy with it, plus it’s cheap had easy.

The front is still factory TRD OR suspension.

Finally putting in my PNP tailgate lock today from KTJO 4x4. Also need to run my fridge power.

 

Finally got my power tailgate lock installed. Things would go a lot faster if I wasn’t a perfectionist.

I had the PNP kit but wasn’t as PNP as I’d had have liked. Had to redo the connectors because the ones on it fell off. Also ditched the split loom for some sleeve, made it a lot easier to fit through the holes and the grommet into the cab. Plus it’s one continuous piece. I’d have preferred another 6-12” of wire but I made due.

definitely glad it’s done but I’m getting more particular about how things done as time progresses. I’d definitely rather spend the time and money to do it right the first time.

@Shellshock I've been looking at tires for my '19 DCLB OR. I'm down to the Cooper AT3 LT in a C load range and the Falken AT3Ws in SL. I don't want to go with E range tires due to the weight, harsh ride and MPG/braking issues that come with them. You have showed up in a few of the Falken threads and have put more than a few miles on your Falkens with no apparent issues. I've looked in your build and adventures thread but may have missed it, are your AT3Ws the SL or E load range?
