Still all in my head… but I’m keeping the chrome bumper!
Howdy peoples. Can someone out there in Taco land speak for the newest navigation being offered on a new Tacoma? I just put a deposit on a kinda stock new TRD OR (just with the LED headlights package added) but was worried about it not having navigation. Are new iPhones working just as well or better? I don’t have any cool friend with a Tacoma to ask… everyone around me has Teslas and Rivians… gotta love the Bay Area.

Factory nav has always been abhorrent. Phone GPS is far superior in every way unless you are going long stretches without phone service. And if you are, grab a Garmin gps from Best Buy and toss it in the glove box. Free map updates, better interface, faster response time, etc.

    Welcome to TW!

Nav in my ‘21 isn’t terrible, but is far from great. I don’t think you’ll miss anything not having it.

Right on. I appreciate the help. I’m even more excited now about the new rig getting here. I was trying to keep it as basic as possible, the LED lights were just a plus.

The only good Navigation in vehicles are ones that use either Apple Play or Android Auto.
But even though I never use my Tacoma Navigation for turn by turn navigating, it is really handy to have a large map on display for city driving.

As a contractor driving all over I use it all the time as a reference.
I grew up with having to memorize your directions before hand and reading physical road maps so though I don't use it for "turn by turn" I like having my digital road map as an aid.

Buy a good dash mount for your phone and you will be golden for navigation.

Hello again gentlemen, wanted to maybe ask you guys a little more advice? The dealer called and I can have the TRD OR that I ordered that is a base with only the LED headlights added or one without the headlights but adds the technology package and it has LED DRL too. Do you all have the extra BSM safety stuff? Gotta pick tomorrow so I thought it was work reaching out.
