Window bar stays in place and does not rattle.

To remove bar, simple push down on one end and the other end will raise out of the track.

Is the rear slider really a security concern? I never considered it a problem - maybe I should?

 

If you've been broken in to or worried about being broken in to through the slider, than yes. I have had a car burglarized years ago and its quite depressing, so I would rather be safe, than sorry.

 

My old truck I had window locks that work off of pressure, and a sprung ball bearing that wedges if you try to move it. Slider is one of the most common spots people break into a truck through

The bar is solid aluminum and does not rattle or make noise in the track.

 

wood dowels from home depots will work just fine also

 

everytime i have locked my keys inside of my car i just popped the sliding rear window open to retrieve them. you will be amazed on how extremely quick and easy that window slides open and how little of noise it makes.definitely a good investment imo

I just ordered one of these from OP and I did so more b\c I am paranoid and like to cover all bases. However, I just went out to take a closer look at my Taco slider and I am still not convinced that it is a big security concern.

Ernesto4 says he retrieves his keys when locked out. How on earth? You'd have to have a ridiculously thin waist or be a midget to get through that window.

Sure, I could toss my 4 y.o daughter in there and she'd be able to unlock it for me.

Payment sent..........yeah, a wooden dowel will work however, this looks much better and blends into the window frame. Price is worth me not having to spend free time making one whether it was wooden dowel or not. Can always wrap a piece of electrical tape around both ends to make it fit tighter to stay in place......if it even ever becomes an issue. Thanks OP

I'm a skinny dude size 32 waist. And all I needed was a flat head screwdriver to pop the window open and I just went in arms first into my truck. Trust me I was surprised I fit through the hole but it can be done. It really opened my eyes as to how easy and quick anybody can break in through that little window.
