Man this thread really escalated quickly. I feel I've learned something from it though, so all in all, good time on TW as always.

    ^ +1

In the winter my commute can be a seamless 50 miles accomplished in 45 minutes despite the roads being snow covered the entire time.
Studded snows and some weight in the bed and I'm fine in 2WD. Only REALLY need 4WD when I'm trying to keep her straight whilst hydroplaning in 4" of slush or it's just straight ice.
But....when people like the OP get in the way with their summer tread that commute turns into 2 hours real fast.

Konsta, why don't you get out of your truck and help the poor photographer? He/she appears to have fallen on their left side making the angle seem much steeper than it actually was. :D

Sounds like the auto LSD system actually was trying to work but overheated (the abs light came on "for awhile and then shut off"). That is exactly what happens when auto LSD gets overworked. It tries to brake the spinning wheel to counteract the open diff problem, but disables everything when the brake overheats.

Gotta love the internet nutbags though, getting pissed off about nothing.

Even on the front? Well, I guess probably not. I wonder what else would have caused the abs light to come on and go off?

No model has ever been equipped with a front LSD, unless you're referring to 4x4 TRAC or A-TRAC, which is only available on 2009+ models. So I guess the short answer is no.

Incorrect - TRD OR's have a rear locker - no mechanical LSD

Engaging the locker disables the ABS and turns the ABS light on.

Right, I knew that, that's why I was surprised when he said that. I know Toyota does that silly auto lsd thing though, where it applies the brake fully to a spinning wheel....if you turn off traction control you see this (stolen from another thread)

But I'm gathering that might only be on 2wd trucks.

Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure With Kevlar and had no issues with around 16-20 inches of snow this weekend. As we had more than enough snow in Ashburn Va for me to test them on. I was in both 4H/4L most of the time. They did much better than I thought they would even plowing through some drifts and plow banks built up on some of the side Streets and some Streets not even plowed as I went and got some friends out to the store.
