I just ordered a Snugtop shell and it should be ready to install in about 3 weeks. I was wondering if a Pop & Lock (pl5500) was necessary with a Snugtop shell? Anyone have any experience with this?

I had a leer camper shell, and a pop and lock was needed. Love my electronic pop and lock. Knock on wood but it's still working fine, since 2.5 years.

I put one in - someone could def yank your tailgate down even with the shell closed.

also - i'm considering adding the one for the tailgate glass (upper) as well, pop and lock makes one that fits most campers, so that both open with the clicker.
