The idea of redoing my sound system is starting to creep into my head. I had for the longest time despised this idea as I like my interior to look as stock as possible. Lately I have noticed that my stock stereo really blows. I have to turn it up fairly high to get it loud enough and I'm starting to get paranoid about blowing the speakers. Plus the sound is somewhat shitty.

I listen to just about anything from the likes of Skynyrd and AC/DC to deathcore stuff like Suicide Silence. I never listen to rap or any of that crap so bass isn't very important, but I do like it when I hear some sick double bass beats. I also want to keep the interior looking as clean as possible. I can't add subs or anything as I need all the room in the truck I can get, including the under a/c seat seating.

How much money would I be looking at spending to upgrade, and what do I need? A headunit, speakers and an amp? I suck with electronic stuff so I'd probably end up paying some local audio shop to do the install as well.

I put in some Image Dynamic XS69 Components for front doors being run by an Alpine PDX 1.450. You would need to change out your HU as well. You would be very pleased w/ those speakers. You will want some subs, but even without them these speakers absolutely kick arse! That setup would run you approx. 750 w/out the HU. Worth every dime though if you really want loud and crystal clear audio.

Your also correct in stating that those factory speakers are absolute crap. Once you see them pulled out then you will be amazed they even sound as decent as they do.

Image Dynamic CTX65 6.5 for rear doors
    2 x Image Dynamic10" v.3 Subs

He recommended everything but the HU. I already had decided on that. Mr. Marv built my speaker mounts and is currently working on my sub box.

Wow that sounds like a great system from just looking at it on the screen! I have another question, how do those amps power each spaker? you have a 5 channel and a 1 channel amp for 6 speakers which makes sense, but how much power to the 4 and how much to the 2 subs? Will you be doing the install?? Where will you buy the amps and the speakers?

    Thanks
