Having problems with my system I have a sony head unit with all jbl speakers and a jbl sub with a 800 watt amp. Sub quit working but the amp is still getting power, thought maybe it was the rca cables but swapped them for new and still nothing. Anyone know what I should do next? The sub is only a year old.

Have you checked the connections on the sub itself inside the enclosure? Tested output with another speaker of some kind?

Well i guess i would find another speaker to test output first. Im sure you've already checked to make sure sub settings on H/U are correct and didn't change somehow.

Well you can do a easy quick test on the sub with a 9v battery. It will buzz or just push out when connected . Just touch it for a second and watch. Lots of YouTube videos about it.

The RCAs are not sending power, they send a sound signal. If your amp is still getting power but there is no sound then it is possible that the RCA connections are bad, the coils on the speaker are bad, or there is a bad connection. I would start with the speaker leads and make sure they look good, then check your cables for damage. Trouble shooting with another speaker will help you narrow down the search. Also you may want to try a different amp if its not the speaker.

But the RCA's do have voltage. Most stereos are 2, 4,5 and sometimes even more volt out.

Yes the rcas do send volts to the amp. I'm going to go over all my wires and connections tomorrow.
