Hi everyone, I recently got all my audio hooked up and running, so I decided to use the reference 500s amp that came with the truck because it would fit. (I know this will only power my front speakers) The sound system worked perfectly with another amp that did not fit so no problems there.

Anyway, when I hooked up the amp, it worked for about 30 seconds before smoking and burning itself up. Pretty sure this is from the previous owner or one of the level adjustments that does not have a screw. It burned up a few resistors and wanted to know if anyone had any close pictures so I could try to solder replacement resistors in and fix the amp. There are 3 different areas that burnt. Thanks in advance.image.jpgimage.jpg

First picture, RH side, looks like water damage.

    Can of worms there.

I would contact the manufacturer and see if they will provide you the schematic or just get the values for those resistors.

Getting replacement resistors in there will be so cheap there’s no reason to not try.
