Is it mandatory to use dual ground plugs on. 2.7 I4 or will single perform the same? First time having a 4x4 with this engine size and dual ground plugs.

Single will work fine but change them out at 1/2 the recommended life. All the duals do is give the spark the ablility to jump to the ground with the least distance. I think these and the 3.4 have a wasted spark on the exhaust stroke which wears the spark plug out twice as fast. Have 2 grounds doubles their life. You don’t get 2 sparks on a dual ground. IMO, why not put in the recommended plug since they are so cheap? Order them online if the auto part store doesn’t have them.
