I have read through numerous posts about these bushings, but haven't came across my situation. I was having an issue with the nut coming loose so I called SPC and they informed me I needed to upgrade my bushings, of course. I put the new ones in and before tightening them I had about 1/8" of play side to side (seemed like it needed a washer on the inside.) I tightened it up and the play is gone however it pushed the entire bushing in so there is now about 1/32" gap between the bushing and the control arm sleeve. I talked to SPC and they said this is fine; but I am having a hard time believing that. There is now so much pressure on the outside washers I think they are going to wear down the bushings. Is this normal?

Have you asked SPC this question?

I bought them used. I believe the previous owner added the zerks.

They said that they want the arms to suck in a little when bolting it together, but this seems excessive. With the number of bushing designs that they have went through so far, I am not completely confident in this setup.

Agreed. They're pretty well used on this forum so hopefully some other owners chime in with their new bushings and see if this is a common issue, or maybe yours is problematic.

I noticed the same thing when i just installed my brand new SPC arms. I dont think it will be an issue as i greased up the faces of the bushing that touch the washer really good.
