2006 Tacoma TRD Off Road. I noticed the "check Engine" light came "on" yesterday. Checked codes and found PO500 Sensor "A". Does anyone know where sensor A is located?? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Depends if you have an auto or manual trans, on the auto trans the ECM gets it's signal from the ABS Module via the Combination Meter, on a Manual trans the ECM gets it directly from the sensor mounted on the transmission or transfer case.
Does your speedometer work and do you have an ABS or Trac light on?

    Thank You, Dm93.

I have an automatic transmission, 5 speed. There were no other lights on. I erased the code, and it hasn't come back on yet. Speedometer works. All is well at the moment, but I anticipate the check engine light to come back on.

I'm wondering if my front tires (0ne fairly new and one about half tread) might be yielding different speed indications, causing the ECU to throw a code?

I'm pretty sure it uses one of the rear sensors, if anything severely missmatched tires would cause either false ABS activation or an ABS light.

My ABS is working well. I just checked it a week ago with a heavy trailer load behind me. I was checking to see how bad the load was pushing the truck. The system worked well. My rear tires are pretty well matched.
