Speed sensor wire?

You definitely can use the included GPS antenna if you want. It doesn’t even need to be outside the dash.
For the USB adapter I posted, that will let you retain the factory USB port down by the cig lighter. The extensions included with the radio need to re routed to an accessible location like the glove box. That just leads to sloppy wiring when you plug your phone in

So I’ve got the idatalink maestro rr and the TO2 in possession. This will get me up and running until I can get the other harnesses in later this week?? @destin_meeks

 

Heck it looks like the harness I bought with the pac unit may fit and work on this maestro too

 

Won’t need the PAC at all with the maestro

-As far as the needed pieces, the maestro brain and harness are essential.
-The mounting kit is pretty important. If you don’t have it yet, you can take the brackets off the factory radio and use them, and just have a gap around the radio.
-The antenna adapter is needed for AM/FM radio. Probably not “essential” for the time being if you didn’t get it
-the USB adapter can be made due without for now. Run one of the USB cables the alpine came with over to the glove box (or pop out a blank switch down low by the factory USB and run it there)

 

@destin_meeks you're the man. So I have the maestro brain and TO2 hrn rr TO2 the TR1 best parts by pac but think it may be universal and able to use it to bypass emergency brake the alpine has in system and a couple more harnesses that are best parts brand by pac that seem to be universal as well but I don’t know for sure. On my way home as we speak to get this install done so I can listen to my music again. I’m gonna test out the Steve Meade distortion detector when done as well. I’m getting fired up thinking about it

 

I ordered that Metra mounting kit you linked this morning. Should be here Tuesday

 

Oh yeah I forgot you had the PAC brake bypass. I was still thinking of the CP2

@destin_meeks im working on soldering TO2 and alpine main together now. I’ve noticed the alpine doesn’t have an orange illumination wire to solder in. Am I missing something? The orange dimmer wire. It has an orange white wire but it says that’s the reverse illumination lights. Is this it?

 

Alpine has a light sensor on the face, no illum trigger

Not parking brake or emergency brake but foot brake. All 3 actually but I’m not finding foot brake

 

It will get foot brake data from the maestro

 

Ok which wire would foot brake be? Do you know? I’m 3 wires away from finding before installing this bad boy

 

Don’t need to wire it. The maestro will tell it through the data harness (little black 4-pin plug)

 

Ok I’m back at it again. Lasted until about 130am last night. I got it hooked up and tested. Backup camera isn’t functioning and gps doesn’t seem to be picking up. It’s reading Houston Texas on the screen. I’m in Tennessee.

 

Might need to move gps antenna to a different location.
If yours had factory NAV, the factory antenna is just up and to the left of the radio. Try putting the new antenna there.

for the camera, is the radio switching to the input when in reverse, and just not showing the camera image?

 

I just realized a very odd thing... that Alpine (as expensive as it was) doesn’t support the Maestro data features (gauges and all that)

which is crazy because $250 pioneers and Kenwood a support that...

that means the foot brake wire DOES need to be hooked up (yellow/black according the the install guide)

Also, did to flash the maestro on the computer?
