squeaky dakars!

    ive had my dakars on for about 1500 miles and about 500 miles into having the leaf pack they started to squeak ALOT. i sprayed the bushings with grease but that only worked for about a day. they sound terrible. any idea what i can do to fix it?

    My stock leafs do the same thing, buy a can graphite lube and spray them down. After you clean it of course. The graphite lube works really will last about 60 days or more depending on how much junk gets up in there. Its the best fix I found so far.

    Jack up the truck and pressure wash between leaves and into the bushings. Use a good dry flow type lube. You can take the whole pack apart and put bike tube or any other rubber type isolator in there if you want too.

    My experience is that the squeak doesn't come from the front bushing but from the leaf that wraps around the front bushing , pay extra attention to cleaning this area , I then installed a strip of EPDM rubber between the leafs here , this ended my squeak

    I did this when I bought my leaf pack used I changed out the bushing and it was fine but I dont wash the leaf they tend to squeak

    I didn't take mine apart , I just pried the leafs apart with a big screwdriver and worked the EPDM strip in , see the link I posted .

    FWIW , I will be doing something similar to what Anthony did when I pull my pack to add the
    $82 d29xl leaf spring
    d29xl OME AAL .
