Steering GROAN

so today i just made a round trip from Fresno to Sac (got 22.6mpg btw) and when i arrived at my destination and pulled in with the window down, my power steering/rack was GROANING when i turned at med/low speed.... and when i meen growl, like people that were near where i parked turned to look as i made it into my parking spot. PS fluid is full, and nothing obviously wrong with the rack, but i do have my newly installed lift/tires. Im only running my icons at the factory set 2" and my tires are a 275/65r17 (31.8") so its not like i am running 40"s on it and straining the steering. The sound is not a belt squeel, and putting the truck in neutral and brining the rpms up to around 2500 did nothing to quiet it. Anyone else have this problem? any suggestions? and truck only has 17k miles so my rack should be in perfect condition still....

 

Did you have an alignment done after the suspension swap? Any pulling can overheat the power steering system. If aligned and no pulling, then my best suggestion is to take it to a dealer to diagnose and flow test the steering system and repair it under warranty. My best guess from your description is a bypassing rack, but I wouldn't rule out the pump either.

 

Well I figured it out. 2 weeks with the suspension on my uniballs on my camburg uca were already dry... little lube and we are back in business
