Steering issue

Hey guys,

Have a stock '11 DC LB PreRunner V6 4x2, just purchased a couple months ago. So far I have been babying the truck.

I noticed when going over speed bumps (I go over them slowly at an angle) I feel a little looseness (not sure if that is the best way to describe it) in the steering wheel, kinda like it is not as solid as it should be. I only notice it when I turn the wheel to the right. I don't hear anything unusual, just the feel of it.

I have read several tsbs and not sure if what I am describing may be part of one of those. Any ideas? I know it is a truck, maybe this is normal?

It's the steering rattle tsb.
Basically there is a point in the steering shaft where there is a rubber dampner meant to absorb some shock between the wheels and steering wheel, but it also results in the loose feeling you describe. Sometimes on more severe bumps like washboards you will actually hear a rattling or knocking sound as that part flexes to its max and clunks at the stops.
There's nothing "wrong", it is working as designed, but if you don't like it you can request the dealer do the tsb and see what they say.
