Steering problem

    2002 tacoma 4x4 tdr
    2006 tacoma 4x4 tdr. Replaced both front hub assys. Torqued both axle nuts to specs. All work done IAW maintenance manual. Steering fine for about 45 degrees and then gets very hard and will feel a little skip to easy then hard. Steering wheel will not return to neutral.
