Hello all, I’m having a funky issue with my 2005 tacoma 4x4… I have a 4” lift on it from fabtech. I have changed my upper control arms and tie rods (inner and outer) and I would change my lower control arms but they seem totally fine.. my problem is my passenger front tire is visibly showing negative camber and I know I’ve seen on here that it’s not a big deal to have negative camber but my tires got so worn out I had to get new ones with the outer part still in good condition.. I got an alignment done and it’s still having a significant camber issue.. anyone else have this problem or know a solution?

What did the alignment tech say? The adjustment cam and bolt are obviously not seized or wouldn’t have been able to adjust camber at all. It’s ok to have a little positive camber as ive run as much as 1* positive.

Yeah they said they couldn’t get the camber to straiten out, it’s got some pretty noticeable negative camber.. I just ordered the SPC upper control arms so I’m hoping that sets me up well

That it a waaaayy too much negative camber, -2 * is visible for sure. For your setup you should honesty have closer to +1* camber for drivability reasons but -2* will not only cause your truck to wander and braking to suck but thats also hard on your front end. When you get new upper control arms, install them with honestly probably the most positive camber and let them align from there. Also in my experience more than 0.06" of total toe will start to cause edge wear of your tires. Ask for 0.5* more caster on your right side aswell to compensate for road crown and you'll be good to go

The question is why? The Fabtech kit is a drop bracket kit if i remember correctly so alignment should be a non issue endless something is bent or worn. You should not need ucas to get camber in spec.

It is a drop bracket lift but everything I found on the forums pointed me towards they cause negative camber and the only thing to remedy is adjustable uppers… I looked pretty hard as well as had 3 shops look at it and they didn’t see anything bent either

Ya I used to install lift kits at the last shop I worked at and usually the knuckles will effectively have built in negative camber when you lay them side by side, upper control arms are a good plan. Especially because Toyota's don't really have alot of room for positive caster in the adjustment normally so you can't even really tone down the caster to get your camber to be reasonable. However, I don't know what your adjustments look like but I feel a guy could do better by tucking in the front adjustment cam all the way because your front adjustment will make both camber and caster go in the same direction.. in this case I mean positive. Compared to the rear one making one positive and one go negative. I say that too especially since it looks like they just adjusted the front cam to bring caster into spec. Maybe even try another shop first before upper control arms. I can't say for certain if they can pull it in but it looks like it could be close to mint if they adjusted both cams and not just one but again I don't know where your adjusters presently are in their range
