I'd like to replace the sway bar bushings on my Taco. I see that Prothane Suspension makes bushings that fit 26mm and 27mm. So what do I have on my rig? Is there a way to tell other than using a measuring tool? Thanks in advance.

There are a few different ones the only way to know for sure is measure.

    Or order every size

OK thank you everyone. It surprises me that there isn't a set width spec for this for a given model year/model. Was this changed up 1mm mid-year?

My best guess is different vendors .

Quality control so poor Toyota ended up with 3 different size bars in the course of a production year

On the current bushings the size will be stamped on the side of the rubber.

My bet is you need 27mm.

No offense but that’s terrible advice not knowing the rest of his rig’s set up.

And even with higher spring rate coils and stiffer shock valving you will still always notice the difference, especially in the corners.

Unless he's running weight up high or light coils with a tall lift you could take it off and unless you told the driver they would never know imo.

The bolded part is what I was talking about. You/we don't know anything about his rig.

And in my first hand experience, I took the sway bar off after installing my OME suspension which is much stiffer than the worn out stock one it replaced.

The body roll was very noticeable and all it took was one trip up/back into the mountains doing 75 mph down mountain passes for me to put the sway bar back on immediately.

Did you check the stamp on the rubber bushing to confirm?

@Madjik_Man first thing I did was look closely all over each bushing, but could find no such stamp.

Weird. This is a pic of the aftermarket one I bought (26mm which was too small) but the OEM ones are stamped similarly only closer to the radius.

I’d post a pic but the OEM bushings are either in the trash or buried in a box somewhere while the new garage is being built.

Thanks again @Madjik_Man. I looked again in hopes that I perhaps missed this stamp the first time, but no such luck. Hopefully the bushings I ordered will fit.
