Sway bar disconnect?

So with a 6” lift would you delete the sway bar

 

If you off road all the time you would never increase your center of gravity. All serious off roaders keep their CG as low as possible.

 

Remove the swaybar, drive carefully.
Then drive a little less carefully at a place where you won’t hurt yourself or anyone else.
Learn how she’ll react in an evasive maneuver and practice accordingly.
If you like it, keep them off.

I prefer the ride without the swaybar, but I’ve driven a lot of odd things for work. Busses, tractor trailers, loaders, pans, bull dozers, a Tacoma without a swaybar drives better than any bus I’ve ever driven.

Is your taco stock With no sway bar?

 

And everyone i wheel with has big lifts big tires and we rock crawl no rollovers

 

I have no lift, I intend on lifting it as little as possible. I don’t rock climb, mainly sand where I go so I don’t see the use of going that high. I will be putting wider tires and a little taller but she’s my DD that I try to take to the woods about once a month, work permitting.

 

We rock crawl and deep mud so you need the clearance

 

So yay or nay on removing my sway bar?

 

It only takes 15-20 minutes to remove, try it out.

 

It’s so subjective that only you will be able to answer that. Take it off and if you don’t like it, put it back on. It’s quite easy to remove.

What's the clearance measurement under your drop bracket?

 

Almost 14”, I believe it was 9-1/2” stock

 

Is the Trd pro higher than other models stock?

 

My 2 cents... I'm in the "take it off and try it camp". I took mine off in May and haven't looked back since. For what I do and expect out of the truck it drives better without the anti sway bar.
For reference: I'm in a Gen2 w/ ~1.5" lift suspended by Dobinson MRA's run pretty much "open" for a more cush ride.

 

I haven’t had a sway bar for 2 years. I just turned my compression up on my coil overs and it’s fine.

My wife’s 22 4Runner has more sway with stock shocks and sway bar than my truck.

edit: I’m on 3” of lift and 35s.

 

6” lift is a drop bracket lift though. Same clearance as 3” lift.

 

How did you measure?

Stock is 7.8” or so on a good day.

 

I think the Trd pro is a bit higher, closer to 9” or so and with the bds lift and some modifications we where able to get just under 14”
