    Hi everyone,

I am trying to figure this out after wiring up my 20” led bar. Everything worked perfectly for about a week. Then my battery died when I tried to start it the other day. The only thing I can think of is that the light inside the switch for this light bar is always on. It is partially illuminated at all times. How do I fix this? A side note: my lock and unlock chime noise is no longer sounding as well. Don’t know if it is related or not.

    Thanks for the help!

tie that bottom LED to the illumination circuit (make dimmable) or taillight circuit (light comes on when tail or headlights are on), looks like the wiring diagram you posted has it tied directly to the battery.

I bought an “add a fuse” fuse tap to wire in after the switch. Not sure which wire to tap into on the switch. I thought of splicing I to the black wite(DC) but the more I look into it the more I confuse myself. Anyone help me out here?
It’s a five pin SPST on off switch. Pictures below.

Did you get a wire diagram with your switch?

    Yes,
I posted a picture of it in this thread. It it only tells me to tie into the battery directly

I didn't know if you received a actual diagram of the switch. I'm not familiar with those switches. One of those 5 pins is for your switch light and that's staying in cuz it's tied into the battery

No diagram of the switch. Maybe I can find one online.

Your dead battery is not a result of the tiny little LED in that switch.
    There's something else going on

My battery did not have any issues until I wired up this LED bar. I assume I wired it incorrectly somehow. I tied it into the battery the same way I wired up my fog lights a while back.

I believe that #6 is what do your illumination. You test it just unplug it. Everything else should work and your light on the switch will now be off. If this is true then you need to run a separate wire from that #6 to something that comes in when you turn on your accessories.

Dimming is on the ground side. Dash light power comes on with headlights so for both dimming and lights at night(led only) you need to tap both sides of the dash light circuit. Light bar remains unaffected and still works regardless of the switch leds. Original battery? It could be simply coincidence or too much playing with new toy in driveway and not enough time running to recharge.

When I pulled the switch out and looked at the wiring the direct from battery was on pin #6 and it was bridged(daisy chained) to #2 pin. I swapped that around to match the diagram. Would that cause my issues? Or should I continue to look for other issues?

Pic 2 after I swapped wires

Leave it the way you have it in picture 2 and then take off #6 and then your lights should work but the switch won't light up until you turn it on.

if you want the switch to illuminate with your other switches then you run a separate lead from #6 to something that illuminates when you turn on your accessorie lights but you'll have to tap into a wire to do so. I don't have a 3rd gen so I can't help you there.
