I believe I have read every thread on here and did not find an answer.

I installed white/amber Led switchbacks from ijdmtoy, however they do not run 'white' in DRL as advertised, they run 'amber'. Everyone seems to have this issue with this setup.

The only time they run 'white' is when the original bulbs were supposed to be in dimmed mode. For example: With the truck off, or with the headlights on.

Is there any possible way to re-wire this?

For example, if I could re-wire them to go in 'dim mode' when the knob is switched to 'DRL' they would be 'white'. Is this possible?

I have Jumper's switchbacks in mine and do not have an issue.
I did have to install the DRL module before because my truck did not come with them.

I would think this would work. Would like to hear from someone with the same year truck.

I know CSJumper has a mod for his and I know VLeds work too, but I was wondering if anyone had gotten any of the cheap Ebay switchbacks or ijdmtoy switchbacks to run white in DRL mode during the day? I'm guessing no one has done this successfully as of yet.

which wires did you tap into for your relays because I am having the same issue with JDM ASTAR switchbacks and I think I just tapped into the wrong wires.

what is the dimmer mod you have to do with vleds? its optional but what is it you have to do to do the dimmer mod so the drl dim when your headlights are on?

I actually did not keep the JDM switchbacks.

But you may be able to do a mod similar to the V-Led mod and make those run white. Maybe someone with V-Led's can answer your question.

My main problem actually is the lights are Amber when the truck is on in DRL but turn white when I turn all the lights on which is not what I wanted I wanted the light to be white all the time unless I was turning. It does however turn white when the switch is turned on without truck running but as soon as I turn the truck on the light turns Amber. I'm just scratching my head. I'm really not to worried about the dimming mod.

Yes the DRL is a mystery due to it's complicated wiring! If you want white DRL without headlights on, you need to do a mod that CSJumper can provide or buy V-Led switchbacks.

CSJumper's mod will make your DRL's come on with the ignition, from what I gathered, so your DRL switch will no longer function. The V-Led's will allow the DRL to function as it was designed, if I have read correctly from others. I may go with V-Led, but want to retrofit first.

Honestly I just researched the hell out of this exact issue a few weeks ago and got nowhere as far as making a JDM or eBay switchback function properly.

I'd imagine you could splice into one of the 3 wires and give it constant power from ignition, but I'd rather have mine work only when I turn the switch to 'DRL'.

I contacted 'RetrofitSource' and they said VLed has the only switchback that they know to run white without headlights.

Jdm told me that basically it's a problem with our type of wiring since the DRL dim when headlights come on. The switchback works with white low power and Amber high power that's why they are just the opposite on our trucks. Oh well I tried a cheap route. Just will put these in the rear and hope the white portion doesn't ever work and get Vleds. Didn't hurt to try. Now I want to get the OPT7 led headlights and fog lights to match my colors up. People on the road already hate me as it is and my lights aren't even that bright lol

So how did you end up fixing the issue? just ran into the same thing.
