I don’t think a 2.4L TT needs a catback, let alone headers. It’d be a joke to think that the Taco is a racecar. Seeing these trucks with SC makes me giggle a bit, but hey, it’s not my money.

Honestly, if I can get the Taco to pull in cold air like the Tundra pulls in cold air with the Stillen, I’d totally be down for one. Keeping the IAT at ambient temps makes it happy!

Meh, we don’t need big tires, nice wheels, lifts, fancy shocks, plate bumpers, racks, 5.29 gears, big brakes, or any of the other shit we mod these trucks with. It’s all to spark joy in ourselves. If that includes more power, I’m all for encouraging the person doing it.

sincerely, owner of a 1400hp car that doesn’t need 1400hp

Think the point is why pay $700 in piping, when you can buy a $100 muffler only...
You of all people should know, its not going to go faster with just a cat back vs just a muffler swap....
Hopefully you dont drink the K&N will give you 15 more horsepower....

Yes I get that a cat back system will give you a slight increase over just a muffler swap but it aint a race car & if youre not going to do it all & you just want a deeper throatier sound to it, just a muffler will suffice....

Ive gone through the go fast car scene, I know what youre saying, but this aint it....

    It’s the same thing.

the diy-bolt-on option often costs more than the weld-in muffler because you’re paying for convenience.

    were done here....:frusty:
takes $40 if that at a shop & 10 minutes to weld in a muffler....
Had my entire tailpipe removed & a down pipe fabbed, welded & installed for $40, parts & labor...

Yep, or you buy a nice piece of jewelry. Same shit as a titanium axle dump for $250 vs the Toyota $100 version, or akrapovic exhaust for a bike

I can't figure out why this addition is necessary instead of simply cutting off the horizontal portion of the pipe, removing the resonator, and letting the exhaust exit horizontally. There's plenty of turbulence under the truck to clear out the exhaust. Plus your exhaust is exiting a couple of inches higher than this down-turned pipe, in case you're buried in mud or snow. Seems more likely your exhaust would back up with the down turned pipe getting more easily plugged if you're bogged. Not that it's the most important factor if you're bogged, but it's not irrelevant if you're bogged. What am I missing?

    Not necessary...
But the diameter of this pipe is a little larger than the factory pipe coming off the muffler...
    Less pipe = less restriction....
    less weight
Looks totally clean & out of site completely...

Just another variation of someone trying to make a dollar off of us.
    Just like fishing lures....

You can easily also make a turn down with the factory pipe, just by cutting the pipe in the same area as the turn, flipping the pipe & flange assy over on the muffler & reweld the hanger to the top...
