Hey guys and gals, I am a reformed wrangler owner who just bought a Tacoma. It was falling apart and I was kinda over it so I figured I would trade it in. Well it seems I have traded one set of issues for another, but at least for now I am so in love I don't care. I noticed the tranny shutters sometimes so I had a shop drop the pan and clean it out(they found debris), and flush the transmission. I'm sitting here waiting to see if it helped at all nervously so I figured I would join a Tacoma forum and start fact gathering if the flush doesn't pan out. Wish me luck!

I don't have all the info about this thing gathered yet, but it's a Pro Comp 6 in lift judging by the paperwork left in the glove box. It also has an AFE air box and intake, some kind of alarm from Clifford, and a split exhaust which appears to be made by Cat. It was so loud it scared the crap out of the kid when I gunned it merging on the freeway during the test drive.

Update: The dealer is replacing the tranny and the leaf springs as one was broken, all even though I got it with no warranty. I must say I am impressed, I figured they would tell me it wasn't their problem! Hell they even gave me a 2014 Rubicon to use while they fix it. Anyway...they are going to use a local blacksmith shop that has been around for 100 years or so to do the leaf springs. I am hoping to talk them into somehow getting rid of the 3 inch block the leaf springs are sitting on now, although I'm not sure what the best solution is or if that is possible. Any ideas?

    Welcome!

That's excellent that the dealer is taking care of the replacements.

well crap...they ran out of money fixing the tranny and are basically cutting me a check for 300 bucks and telling me to take care of the shocks. Any suggestions? I see the Dakar springs seem to make people happy...anything else?
