    Pretty sweet concept - could have definitely used these today. Now only if they integrated a piston to slowly lower the tailgate as well with this design...

    Bruce98Jl - yeah an integrated piston would be a good idea, I wonder if there would be a way to rig it up with the RedLine Tunning tailgate easy downs.

    FlyByNight - The price tag is exactly why I have been on the fence about getting them, considering all the other things I would like to buy haha might wait until next years black Friday sale haha hopefully they will be 35% off again

    yeah man I hear you haha 80 would be more reasonable IMO. 200$ could go towards many other things on my list

    Very few items on my list would be covered by $200 at this point. When you've done all the cheap mods already, you start to question your level of commitment.

    my list of small mods is getting short real quick, everything is getting slowly more expensive haha saving to do my lift next summer. worst part is ive only had my truck for about 6 months. my buddies are starting to think I have a shopping problem. feels like Christmas every day with all the packages being delivered here haha.

    This year I put on Dakars and new shocks, 885s on 5100s, LR UCAs, LCAs and cams/ bolts, Pelfrey bolt on sliders, Husky liners, and hand throttle with a gas pedal spacer. I may have a slight problem too.

    Erik...I had the redline tailgate struts, but didn't like them. They seemed to be jammed into the gap when using them causing the tailgate door to misalign. And they would eat away at the cable over time. I like this idea as it could be extremely useful for extended items out the back.

    I would ONLY do that to a tailgate that had the Mobtown inner skin and top rail, or something similar. Not sure the plastic skin would add enough strength to keep the tailgate from warping or bending with some weight on it...

    Obviously not a heavy load application, but guys like me that surf or do an occasional trip to home depot to pick up things that hang out the back could benefit from something like this from time to time.
