So the dealership finally received the parts to correct some of the issues with my truck. It was taken to the body shop to replace the fender flares, correct the several paint issues, adjust the hood to fit, and to correct the tailgate fitment.

They were able to fix the hood and paint issues. The fender flares still did not fit correctly.

The tailgate is unable to be fixed, it is non adjustable, a part was welded incorrectly. It has been turned over to the Toyota engineering department for a fix.

They sent your truck back to the engineers? Fit and finish on my sr5 is literally perfect, all the panels line up bueatiful and flush.

I am happy for you, my TRD Sport underground had several fit and finish issues that i have been working through since the day of purchase. I purchased in late April 2024.

To answer you question no the truck was not sent back to the engineers, I have been working with the Toyota field reps and they have to get them involved it is likely that the bed will have to be replaced to correct the issue.

At least they are taking care of it for you. Do you have photos you can share with us? How many field techs are involved?

Fitment that bad should have never made it to a dealer, much less a customer. I would refuse delivery.

that is the side with the strut and does have adjustability.

As said above, that shouldn't have made it on to the carrier for delivery to the dealer and the dealer should have not put it on the lot for sale until remedied.

Yeah I agree but I’m too worried about it. I actually had a different 24 before this one and one of the backup sensors would fall out of the rear bumper when I went over the speed bumps at my apartment complex. You should see the paint job on this one. It’s all orange peel and not just the usual spots either. I don’t even get mad anymore. Every product is garbage

    LISTEN GUYS......
IF YOU DONT FIRMLY CLOSE THE TAILGATE, THE DRIVER SIDE WONT LATCH CORRECTLY.
THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR TAILGATE, GO TO THE GYM......
MY FIRST TRUCK DID IT, MY SECOND TRUCK DOES IT.
I POINTED IT OUT TO MY LOCAL SERVICE MANAGER & HE'S SMARTER THAN MOST OF HIS TECHS..
HE IMMEDIATELY KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON.
    NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC.
JUST NEED TO PUT JUST A BIT MORE UGHHMMMFFFF INTO IT WHEN CLOSING.

Like I said, I also thought mine was improperly aligned when I first saw it.
Just takes a little more effort to properly latch that side due to the design of the latch, nothing wrong...
Not even an latch alignment issue.
