    On my 2012 regular cab base model on the tailgate handle is to the left then to the right there is a small square box. What is it. Thanks all.

    That’s where the factory backup camera usually mounts. For trucks without the camera, there’s usually a plastic block off plate.

    Isn't that where the camera is embedded? Not sure, as I'm not near my truck right now.

    If you decide to install a camera save the cap, you can sell it in the TW market.
    The guys who have their spare tire mounted to the back bumper have to relocate their camera because the tire is blocking it.
    And, it seems there isn't a part number for it (the cap).
