Tailgate

I inherited a truck that didn’t have a tailgate. I found a tailgate but it doesn’t have the tailgate cables or other hardware to attach the tailgate. I found the cables from a local auto store, but I can’t figure out what bolts I need to connect the tailgate to the truck. I need help! I’m not a car guy whatsoever.

Hello eblack417, Welcome to the forum!

I also acquired a truck without a tailgate and found a nice one on here in the for sale section. I was lucky, truck had the bolts still attached.

Not sure how many parts you are missing, but the mounting bolts and step washers required to attach TG to the truck are circled on the attached image. Probably easiest to acquire those from your local Toyota dealer, or a local boneyard maybe.

That is what I am missing along with the tailgate strikes and the support cables. I’m so blind I cannot believe I didn’t see those screws. You guys don’t understand how frustrating this was for me. I’m not a car enthusiast but these forums have helped me out a lot. Thank all of you!!!
