Has anyone attempted a recent install of Techstream using the instructions provided here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/ecu-tsb-update.562550/page-159#post-23971823

It seems like the key generator is no longer functional. Attempting to add the key it generates presents this error:

    Screenshot 2023-07-06 205917.png

Clicking OK results in the window disappearing the software expiration remaining at 0 days. I'll be damned if I can find a work around for this! AV is of course totally disabled. Doesn't seem to matter if I attempt it with or without network connectivity....the result is always the same.

If I close and reopen the software, I will get the activation window again, and entering the key and clicking ok from this point on just results in the activation window reappearing.

I'm attempting this on a Windows 11 machine, but I believe I have a report of the same behavior on a W10 machine as well. Anyone have any insight into this?

I did attempt that. It appears the key gen tool is not producing a useable key any longer. I ended up having to find an alternative install method that uses a modified launcher executable that suppresses the key request so the software will function without. Not an install for the feint of heart, as it generates some pretty scary warnings from Windows Defender but it seems to be functional without any impact to the OS. Time will tell if I missed something I suppose…

they've probably updated the software to prevent people trying to use keygens. that's a pretty old version.

I’m having the same problem on a windows 11 laptop. Any updates to this. How about the details as to how you got it to work? My heart is not feint. Lol!

    Instructions can be had here:

I assume no responsibility for their use. You do so at your own risk.

That being said, I was able to get it installed and connected to my truck successfully including making some customization settings.

I can’t even get past the security keys of that link. Lol. I guess it’s not for for. I’m just beginning to be a new tuner and can’t get Techstream to activate. Very frustrating

My v14 just shit the bed when I had to reload it for the 30 time then connect notice.
So I found your post and did this.

I downloaded it to a thumb drive on another machine.
    Then deleted it.
Loaded it via thumb drive on a windows 7 laptop that I disabled
From the internet. So if there I’d a virus in there it’s not going to go
    Anywhere.

I think the key is the patch.

I closed the small screen by accident and I had the same error message.
So I restarted the program and left the no key box on.
This version runs much faster than my old 14.

My initial thought is if you put the patch in a v14 it might work cause my
Upgraded version had the same numbers in the reg box.
    Just me thinking out loud
    But, thanks for this.
I’ll play with it some but it loaded with a 19 Corolla NP.
