Anyone notice if the TH or PRO have different tuning? I had test driven the OR hybrid twice and swear it had less grunt than the TH I picked up a couple days ago. Curious if anyone has heard anything about factory tuning being different on different trims.

Maybe. I truly don’t know but it feels much beefier in terms of torque.

Were both trucks in the same drive mode (Eco/Sport/Normal/WarpSpeed)?

Yup. It’s my imagination is the most probable explanation.

Do both models have the same gearing?

If anything, the TH should have less grunt. It has less horsepower.

So weird. Maybe it’s mapped different? Clearly they are messing with outputs. And 3hp will not be felt either way.

My guess is the different exhaust (no resonator). Agree, you won't miss the 3hp.

Pro has augmented sound (plus TRD exhaust) which might make it sound (and therefore feel) faster. Does the TH have augmented sound?

I don’t think it has augmented sound. It just feels very stout and very nice compared to the OR hybrid. Feels more torquey which makes no sense. It’s like 300lb heavier !

You may be feeling the OME suspension, which will provide a huge difference in feel.

While the peak numbers might be really close, the overall curve might be completely different. Itd be nice if one of these youtubers would put a Tacoma on a dyno
